Many of you might not know this, but I’m a twin! We look nothing alike and our personalities are pretty different, but we’re best friends! Although I like to make desserts for family events, ‘Rachel’s cookies’ are always requested. The original recipe calls for M&M’s and chocolate chips, but I decided to switch them up and add Oreos. These cookies are super soft, packed with vanilla flavor and the M&M’s and Oreos put them over the top delicious!
These cookies are made with instant vanilla pudding. Growing up, this was always my mom’s ‘secret ingredient’ that she put into her chocolate chip cookies. It makes these cookies extra soft and chewy, as well as amps up the vanilla flavor. I also love that these are perfect to customize with different M&M colors or flavors. These cookies are at every family get together, they are so so good!
If you’re looking for soft and chewy cookies that everyone will love, this is the recipe to make. If you end up trying them please let a comment of what you think below 🙂
M&M Oreo Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter melted. I prefer to use salted butter but you can use unsalted
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup light brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs room temperature
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 3.4 oz box instant vanilla or french vanilla pudding mix it must be instant!
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup M&Ms
- 1 cup Oreos, roughly chopped about 8
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°. In the bowl of stand mixer combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Mix on low until combined. Add in the eggs and mix on low until incorporated.
- With the mixer on low, slowly add in the flour, baking soda, instant vanilla pudding and salt and mix until everything is evenly incorporated. Remove the bowl from the stand mixer and add in the Oreo's and M&Ms. Stir in by hand using a rubber spatula.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Use a medium sized cookie scoop (about 2 tablespoons of dough per cookie, and evenly space 6-8 cookies at least 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 9 minutes, or until the edges just start to become golden brown. Pull them out when they are just barely baked. I like to stick 2-3 M&Ms and Oreo pieces into the cookies while they are still hot. It's not required but makes the cookies look pretty!
- Allow the cookies to sit on the cookie sheet for 3-4 minutes before placing on a cooling rack to cool completely. Do not over bake! This will allow them to stay soft and chewy. These will be fresh for 1 week and can freeze in an air tight container for up to 3 months.

Can you use sugar substitutes? Also, can you use sugar free pudding mix?

Do these have to go in the fridge? It says an hour at the top, but doesn’t say in the recipe if it needs to
